Mission & Outreach

Gregory Community Church seeks to be

a source of care and compassion to all.

We are partners with the American Red Cross as an official Mass Care Shelter, support the local food pantry and serve as a weekly meeting place for Alcoholics Anonymous.
In the past five years, the “missional church” movement has been emphasized in the local church.  In doing so, however, we believe the term missional has become over simplified, and has become the program at church that, given time, will fail like most programs do.
The misconception is that if we open up a food pantry, we have now become a missional church. At Gregory Community Church, we dont do missional ministry or add the word missional to any of our ministries, rather we have chosen to be intentional about living missionally. Its who we are becoming, but at the same time understand we will never arrive. Instead of creating programs we hope will be effective and then ask God to bless them, we look for opportunities to meet real needs of real people in our community. We continue to seek where God is already moving and at work and join him in that redemptive flow. In other words if Gods not in it, then we dont want to be in it either. If the Kingdom is not at work in what we are doing, then we dont want to be at work there either. Gods word instructs the church to reach out to the least of these, and Jesus told His disciples to go and make disciples. We want our ministry to do both. Our desire is to be engaged in ministry that is transforming and incarnational.
If you are passionate about reaching the least of these and pouring into the lives of the broken and hurting, than we encourage you to join us as we join God to reach the people in our community with the life changing truth of Jesus Christ, by extending care and compassion to all.

The Clothes Closet

clothing_001In October of 2005, we opened The Clothes Closet at Gregory Community Church; a place where residents may shop for quality used clothing, coats and bedding.  The Clothes Closet sponsors a yearly school supply & backpack drive in August of each year.

We are proud to partner KenyaReliefwith KenyaRelief.org, to provide care and compassion to suffering children and adults in Kenya.  In 2018 we are focused on supporting the children of Brittany’s Home of Grace by supplying much needed clothing and shoes.
Our Technology Director, Kevin Cook, traveled on a medical mission trip to Migori, Kenya in September, 2015 and again in March, 2017.  As part of a spiritual, medical, and evangelical mission he has been part of God’s plan to help children and adults with much needed comprehensive care.   Kevin plans to return to Kenya in 2019.
Please keep the citizens of Kenya, KenyaRelief, and all volunteers in prayer.  Contact us if you would like more information, or simply follow the link above.
